On Tuesday, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs announced that it committed to fund a $1.5 million dollar clinical trial to study the potential benefits of MDMA-assisted therapy for veterans suffering from PTSD and alcohol use disorder. The study will take place in two hospitals, one each in Rhode Island and Connecticut beginning in 2025. The trial is scheduled to take place over 5 years.
