Senate Law & Justice Committee quashes House Adult-Use Bill from House

In a late night meeting, the Senate Law & Justice Committee, took up a vote on the adult-use bill introduced in the House by Rep. Frankel.  The Committee made short work of HB 1200 with a 7-3 vote to kill it.  HB 1200, a bill to legalize adult-use cannabis, provided that the cannabis would be sold through state stores by state employees.  Besides, having Pennsylvania government compete and control Pennsylvania businesses, this initiative violates federal law and the U.S. Constitution.  Perhaps it is too much to ask that our “law makers” understand the law.
